Dear American customers,
Nearly all European postal services (Scandinavia, Austria, UK etc.), including our Czech postal service have paused accepting US-bound shipments because it is unclear how they should collect the new import duty on behalf of the US, neither do they yet have the IT solution in place to do so (link to their letter to all major exporters to the United States which they also sent to our CEO):

Based on the new executive order of the US President, the “de minimis” duty-free regime for all postal shipments with a value of zero to 800 USD imported into the USA is being canceled with effect from August 29, 2025. Fundamental issues and procedures, especially in the area of customs duty collection, specification of data collected and method of cooperation with US customs authorities, have not yet been clearly defined by the relevant US authorities. Partial technical details were published only on August 15, which left an extremely limited time for preparing the technical transfer of data to the US side, as well as for setting up the customs duty collection, which must be done when the sender submits the shipment. For this reason, it is not possible to ensure compliance with the requirements of the executive order at this time. For Czech Post customers, this means that from August 22, 2025 until further notice, the reception of shipments to the USA that contain merchandise will be suspended, regardless of their value.

The cause of the problem is the highly unusual demand by the US that the sender pays the new US import tax ('tariff') on behalf of the receiver. No European national postal service has the logistical IT infrastructure for that yet. Couriers such as FedEx do have that option but charge an unfeasible cost of shipping and also, we have no IT infrastructure to support them yet. We normally send 50 packages/day to the US via the Postal service's digital communications, payment and labels. This issue is an emergency for all European exporters to the US and extremely inconvenient for many Americans so we expect this situation to be resolved soon. We will update you about the situation here. Our deep apologies for the inconvenience of temporarily not being able to buy needle cartridges!
