This account verification procedure ensures that we can communicate via email and that the security settings of your browser do not block our store functionality (cookies, Javascript, query strings).
In case you're unable to get your account verified:
- DO NOT USE A 'PRIVATE WINDOW' OR 'PRIVATE BROWSING/INCOGNITO MODE'. Those modes refuse to retain cookies but our account verification page, linked to in the email we'll send you, verifies whether the cookie, dropped by this page is still present.
- Make sure cookies are accepted and that Javascript is enabled.
- Disable any 'link tracking protection' because those modes sometimes strip everything after the ? in a URL, and we use that feature here.
- Do not delete our cookies at any stage.
- You may want to try temporarily disabling anti-malware protection, because they could block our query string when they falsely assume it's part of 'tracking'.
- Use the same browser & device to click on (or paste or type) our emailed confirmation link. If you paste our link or check your email on a different device or browser, the account verification will fail!
In other words: the cookie that's dropped by this page in this browser will be needed by the account verification page in again this same browser. Meaning, going to the emailed link in a variety of browsers will not work. You'd have to use the other browser to again create an account if you want to try a different computer or browser to create an account on.
